Waterloo Elementary School was named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education! The school is one of only seven Maryland schools to receive the nation’s Blue Ribbon award this year. Blue Ribbon Schools are recognized based on rigorous state and national standards for high achievement and significant improvement. Waterloo received a 2017-2018 Maryland Blue Ribbon School award in December.

Waterloo was recognized as an exemplary achievement gap closing school, indicating that it is among the nation’s highest performing schools in closing achievement gaps bWetween student groups and all students over the past five years.
